The Social Program consists of the Accompanying Persons Program and the AGA2016 Post Tour detailed below.


I. Partners Program (for only Family members of delegates)

The full Accompanying Persons Program includes the three tours detailed below and attendance of the following AGA2016 events: Welcome Reception and dinners. Partner tours can be purchased separately if desired.


1.1. October 26, 2016 - Hanoi, the Capital of Vietnam
Visiting Places: Temple of Literature, the 1st university of Vietnam - Sword Lake area - Old Quarter
Hanoi is 102km away from Hai Phong City, 93km from Ninh Binh, 151km from Ha Long. It takes about 2 hours from Haiphong City to Hanoi by bus.
Throughout the thousand years of its eventful history, nowadays, Hanoi still preserves many ancient architectural works including the Old Quarter and over 600 pagodas and temples. Famous sites include the One Pillar Pagoda (built in 1049), the Temple of Literature - The first university of Vietnam (built in 1070), Hanoi Citadel, Hanoi Opera House, President Ho Chi Minh's Mausoleum, etc.
Hanoi also characteristically contains 18 beautiful lakes such as Sword Lake, West Lake, and Truc Bach Lake, etc. which are the lungs of the city, with their surrounding gardens and trees providing a vital source of energy.
Many traditional handicrafts are also practiced in Hanoi including bronze molding, silver carving, lacquer, and embroidery. Hanoi has many famous traditional professional handicraft villages such as Bat Trang pottery village, Ngu Xa bronze casting village, Yen Thai glossy silk, etc.

1.2. October 27, 2016 - Ninh Binh province

Visiting Places: Phat Diem Cathedral /   Trang An Grottoes Complex
Ninh Binh is about 130km away from Haiphong City and 90km from Hanoi. It takes about 3 hours from Haiphong City to Ninh Binh province by bus.
Ninh Binh is endowed with many places of particular interest which have been well-known inside and outside Vietnam such as Tam Coc – Bich Dong, Cuc Phuong National Park, Trang An Grottoes and Van Long Nature Reserves. There are also many historical relics, for instances Hoa Lu Ancient Capital, Bich Dong Pagoda, Thai Vi Temple, Phat Diem Stone Cathedral, Tam Diep Defense Line.... Ninh Binh is the charming land of myth and unique landscapes.

1.3. October 28, 2016 - Hai Phong City, Quang Ninh province
Visiting Places: Ba Vang Pagoda in Quang Ninh Province - Haiphong downtown
Ba Vang Pagoda has been classified as historical monuments in the province of Quang Ninh province, represents Truc Lam Yen Tu Zen style. There is 123.81ha land, and it is considered as being at the best location. With the historical and spiritual values, Ba Vang Pagoda is becoming a more attractive destination for spiritual tourism in Vietnam and a reliable destination for pilgrims. It has increased the confidence of the majority of Buddhists across the organization to visit the pagoda.
Hai Phong City is the largest port city in the North and the industry zone in northern Vietnam, the center of economy, culture, education, science and technology in the northern coastal region. The city is also a major tourism center of Vietnam. As a big city near the sea and islands, Hai Phong is an important part in the robust Hanoi – Hai Phong – Quang Ninh economic triangle.

II. Technical Tour of AGA 2016 - OCTOBER 29, 2016 – Halong bay, Unesco World Heritage Site

Visiting Places: Halong Bay - Thien Cung Cave - Ga Choi, Cho Da, Lu Huong Islets - Sung Sot Cave

Ha Long Bay is located in the northeast corner of Viet Nam, 65 km from Haiphong City. In the Province of Quang Ninh. Ha Long Bay covers an area of 1,553 km2 with 1,969 islands, of which 90% are limestone islands. To the west and north west, Ha Long Bay stretches from Yen Hung district in Ha Long city to Cam Pha town in Van Don district; to the south-east and in the south, Ha Long Bay borders the western shore of Tonkin Gulf; to the southwest the Bay borders Cat Ba island (Hai Phong province).
Ha Long Bay’s center area was recognized as a world heritage area by UNESCO and covers an area of 434 sq. Km, including 775 islands, of which 411 are named. It is bound by Dau Go island (in the west), Dau Be island (in the south) and Cong Tay island (in the east). A buffer zone lies around the World Heritage area, the width is about 5 - 7 km from the protection line to the sea, on moving scale of 1-2 km.
